I got into the
Amiga scene really late in 1998 when I purchased a 1200 and I
just found the machine to be so flexible that it became for me
like a custom car with everything working exactly how I wanted
rather than having things dictated for me by Bill Gates.
I joined the successful Kickstart Amiga User Group
and was involved with running the first Amiga show put on by a
user group in the UK as well as running the club website, It
was at this show that we started taking registrations for
Moovid and Riva and the idea of Kicksoft Ltd. popped into my
head.
After a lot of work developing a website and
integrating a credit card system that would work with Amiga
Browsers, all done using Amiga software I must add, and as
well as working in my full time job as a area salesman for one
of the multi nationals, Kicksoft Ltd was launched in February
2000.
I was aware of the state of the Amiga market but
felt that with very low running costs I would be able to
appeal to a niche market and supply serious commercial
software & shareware in a "one stop shop" and I must say
that after 2 years of trading I feel that I have been proved
correct in that assertion.
Kicksoft Ltd has appeared at the UK shows staged
by SEAL in the south and HAUG in the north, It has always
given me pleasure in putting so many faces to the names of
those who have ordered from me or have had contact from via
email or phone.
Fundamentality I am an Amiga User and whatever
happens in the future I for one will continue to support the
community and Amiga in their endeavors.
